SAFETY PIN BERET – WINDSOR WOOL BERET – BLACK

Named after Windsor Castle – not that one – but the one on Harrow Road. A legendary venue in the 1970’s it played host to the good and the great many of them on the first steps of the staircase to stardom.

The Rolling Stones, The Who, Hawkwind, The Cure, the Ruts, U2, The Jam, The Clash, Madness, The Stranglers and the Psychedelic Furs all played the venue, sometimes to a full house and many times to a room full of die-hard fans.

Many of the bands disliked the venue or refused to play it after numerous run-ins with the management. Legend is the Iron Maiden refused to play early with the pub still empty. The subsequent row with the manager ended with Iron Maiden being banned- not that it did much to halt their rise to the top.

Our Windsor beret celebrates that sort of venue, with its defiant spirit. Pure wool with a leather band trim and a carefully produced oversize safety pin that gives attitude.
