The shoe and boots in the Original Steel Cap collection are subculture icons.  

Together with the Warrior and Divine, the Engineer is one of the very special Underground designs.  

The Engineer boot is a heroic working man’s boot that has been re-appropriated as a uniform for counterculture. Originally used by Engineers on the Railways (Engine Drivers or crew ) the boot found favour with the biker fraternity in the 1950’s and was associated with subsequent subcultures. The characteristic three row puritan stitching, steel cap and army boot last is constructed using 100% leather uppers. We also have vegan friendly options that are environmentally friendly as well. The uppers are built onto a cleated rubber sole. 

There are options is single double and triple soles and with either the internal steel cap or the Underground external toe cap. Available from size 2-14 

Our Steel Cap footwear is produced to a very high standard and offer the wearer comfort and a degree of protection. However, our boots are tested in a street environment and have not been subjected to a test to check their compliance to safety standards. We cannot guarantee their performance in a situation that requires the use of footwear compliant with safety regulations.
