Style Introduction

The Original Wulfrun Creeper is constructed on a walled round-toe last, the upper design distinguished by the D-ring lace feature and interwoven apron.

Originated in Scotland, tartan was the fabric worn by crofters working the land. In the 19th century Tartan was romanticised by the elite and the establishment with each Tartan design representing a clan (family line). In true style Tartan was re-appropriated by the Punk movement in the second half of the 70’s. The wrestling of ownership of Tartan is ongoing. This Tartan is from the Menzies clan.

Ever true to our roots this product uses Authentic Tartan that is woven in Britain.

The original Underground Creeper, Wulfrun was first produced in the 1980’s for our store in Manchester and was one of the styles to be included in our inaugural seasonal collection in 1987. One of the most popular designs it is, like so many of our original designs, named after an iconic British live music venue. Wulfrun is a round toe Creeper that has three distinctive features:

– a ribbed sole edge

– an apron with three rows of interlacing

– two D-ring for lacing

Wulfrun is gender neutral and produced in single, double, triple and wedge sole options and a huge selection of materials and colours including the signature black suede version.
